Thank you for your recent Statue Shop inquiry. We hope you enjoy your statue. Many customers ask if our statues stand up to winters extremely inclement weather and freezing temperatures. Well yes and no. While we expect the statues we sell are of the best quality, mother nature can be quite tough on the statues over a long period of time. Ice and freezing temperatures have compromised even Michael Angelo's David. Concrete has an inherent tendency to expand and contract with climatic conditions. The ideal solution is to store your statues away from direct exposure from the elements. If this is not possible, you can place a plastic garbage bag over the statue for the winter months. Either way we always recommend you put one brushed on coating of Thompson’s Water Seal to fill in the smallest holes to prevent ice penetration. This is strictly an extra method of preservation as our statues will last for many years without any maintenance at all.
